bit.ly News article source: According to a report released today by Bloomberg, Sprint is planning on offering its customers unlimited data plans for use with the iPhone 5, launching in October. The report claims that Sprint wants to differentiate itself from rival carriers AT&T and Verizon, both of which currently do not offer unlimited data packages for use with the wildly-popular iPhone handset. Sprint is the third-largest carrier by number of customers, and they are currently the only one of the top three that doesn’t have any iPhone devices available. Over the past weeks a number of sources have claimed that Sprint has reached an agreement with Apple to finally begin selling the iPhone, starting with the launch of Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5 handset. It’s believed that Sprint will also receive the iPhone 4, or some variant of the phone that Apple plans to target at customers looking for a lower-cost handset. If Sprint does launch a flat-fee unlimited data package alongside the iPhone, they will be the only carrier in the country to offer the combo and they may actually draw clients away from AT&T and Verizon.
